Photographs taken for Himadri Hans Handloom. An initiative started in 2017 by the non-profit Hans Foundation in collaboration with the government of Uttarakhand, India. The objective of the program is to impact & support the lives of 5000 women & artisans from rural Kumaon region through employment & sale of product, while reinforcing the indigenous capabilities of the handloom and handcrafted textile work from the area. I visited after the relaxation of Covid-19 lockdown rules in India. The production of the craft, lives of the weavers, and sales were impacted by the lockdown, like many of the other businesses in the remote and mountainous region
